1. The photographers name is Erin Kunkel and her photography falls under the category of Travel/Editorial.
ReplyDelete2. Most of the photos are really bright and have amazing color. I really like her use of light in the photos.
3. The mood I get from her photos are happiness and feeling adventurous and the way she makes them look makes you want to be there too. I think the way she creates this mood is the amount of light the photo contains and how saturated and sharp the photos are.
1. The photographer that I picked is Paul Kennedy, his work falls under travel/editorial.
ReplyDelete2. His photos I feel show the true colors, and nature of the places that he travels. He does a lot of his photos pretty much straight on and I think that that's him wanting to show the environment without clustering it with extra techniques.
3. He is shows the simplicity of the places that he visits, which makes me personally feel at ease. Even when the pictures are of busy things its never overwhelming, its never clustered which sometimes happens when taking pictures of environments with people or with a lot of patterns.
1. I choose Melissa Farlow and she shoots travel/editorial type pictures.

capture her subjects.
3. Her photos made me feel like I was there watching the event unfold, which makes me feel pretty awesome. They are very powerful and compelling. Her shots are highly sophisticated and gives me a sense of excitement.
1. I choose Hedrich Blessing Photographers (studio of 5) They fall under the travel/editorial genre.
ReplyDelete2. Their photos are so vibrant and full of color, the contrast of the colors mixed with the patterns in the shots are amazing. The color pallet that they obtain in the photos is incredible.
3. Their photos sort of make me feel excited. They portray the light in such a certain way that it lures you into the photos, it makes me want to go to all of these places even though I have no idea where they are.

ReplyDelete2. His pictures are very vibrant and the use of color and light he uses mixes really well.
3. His pictures show life how it really is. They have a serious feeling to them because he shows issues and conflicts we have in the world we live in.
1) Jason Law, he is a travel and landscape photographer.
ReplyDelete2)His use of colour and longer shutter speeds to make lights and water seem much smoother.
3) Most of his images evoke a sense of calmness because he so often uses longer shutter speeds to make his images flow and become smooth.

ReplyDelete2) Her pictures show many high and low contrast. Being in black and white only makes them stand out more, it also helps bring out the highlights in some of the pictures.
3) Her pictures seem to show the darker, murkier side of the subject matter. Most look like they could have been shot with black and white film.

ReplyDelete2)His photos, though in black and white, show what can evolve over the years. His works show changes over the years.
3)Various feelings are evoked through his pictures with each different picture. The composition evokes either happiness or sadness from me, depending on the subject of the picture. Most of it comes from the different areas he captures, as well as the lighting of the settings.
I would chose Sally Mann again, cause i really love her work.. however, to expand. i chose

2. His photography has exceptionally clean lines, shapes. He uses a lot of squares and framing within the photographs and
deals significantly in B&W photography (mainly due to the time he was a photographer. Although is more modern colored photos can still be defined as the same. I love the sharpness, and simplicity his images offer. The ‘grundge’ in the photos. Like a ‘forgotten’ feeling.
3. When viewing his work, you feel like it may be a more desolated setting. No one else around. Gives me a sense of being 'alone'. If an emotion specifically had to be evoked, id say it was a sense of sadness to the state of the surroundings. His photography does not seem to me to want to create a 'calming' feel from his subject matter choice.

3. The photos that she shoots bring out various feelings from relaxed to being adventurous. Her use of light and the composition of the subject matter
1) Frank Gohlke is a conceptual landscape/ fine arts photographer.
ReplyDelete2) Gohlke uses a very narrow range of color which give his work a more dramatic feel. his use of light also give his photos great detail.
3) His choice of not using human subjects gives his photos a lonely feeling. There is also a very surreal feel which I feel comes from the wide angles his uses.
1.I am going with Nadav Kander again because I feel he exemplifies a sense of place. He is classified as both fine art and Travel/Editorial.
ReplyDelete2. Kander uses vivid color and deep shadows to convey the depth and dimension of his content. In his book 'Yangtze-The Long River' he uses He uses the thick fog and cloud of pollution settling over the river to his advantage. As a result, the photographer is able to construct a sense of atmospheric perspective that creates the illusion of deep three-dimensional space.
3. Kander's grandiose scale and use of large format to capture great detail make his images have high impact and are compelling. The beauty and color draw you in and the details keep you looking. The people in his landscapes appear dwarfed by the scale of his photos and often his images raise more questions, thus engaging the viewer even more.

Delete1. For Sense of place i decided to choose Joel Sartore, because of his natural ability to tell a story with his Photography; He is classified as Travel/Editorial.
ReplyDelete2. His colors, and composition are absolutely amazing in every photo he purveys. This individual has the ability in and out of the studio, And/or With flash/off camera flash to produce a wonderful image.
3. The images that i viewed really seemed to open my eyes towards the subjects he was photographing ie; "The Great Migration" set on his website really pulls the reader in, and gives them a sense of place to truly understand despite not being present.
1. The photographer I chose to look into for this project is Gavin Gough. He is classified as strictly a travel photographer.
ReplyDelete2.He uses really bright, vibrant, almost candy like colors, combined with models that are extremely iconic for the place he is.
3.His work gives off a sense of the happiness that everyday people find in areas of the world that we have little to no insight on. His work in Delhi, India especially really conveys a sense not only of the flowing architecture of that culture, but the regular kids in rural areas riding the street bike and chasing each other.
