Amanda Robertson Final Project Proposal

I'd like to portray my hometown of The Dalles, Oregon and the Columbia Gorge through my eyes. My project is a demonstration of the things that remind me of living at home in The Dalles. Growing up I was raised in the country so that is a big deal of what I think home is. I am using color contrast and intensity to show the detail of my subjects. All of my photos contain either: landscape or older items that have aged through time and effects of the weather, or a combination of the two.

A Photographer that inspires me is Richard Pelletier. He has taken some amazing photos in the Columbia Gorge. He uses color and contrast to portray his photos in a very intriguing way to me.

Final project - Jordan Lacsina

My initial idea was to take pictures of ink and varnish in water to create clouds of color.  I find it interesting how it reacts with the water and it's sort of whimsical and just really interesting to look at.  I've always loved different types of abstract art so this is something I wanted to get into.  My other idea is to take panoramas of the Portland skyline and the buildings inside of the city.  With the skyline I wanted to try and take 3 different panoramas during different times of the day and showing the changes in light.

final proposal

for my final project i have chosen to continue on with my word for the word play assignment. my word was Gothic. for this particular shoot i would like to shoot in graveyards and other creepy feeling locations. i would like to use models as well as maybe use abstract photos of tombs or surrounding areas.

Final Project Proposal - C. McArdle

For my final project, I would like to take landscape photographs in a more artistic and/or conceptual approach. There is a lot of interesting scenery within the general area within and surrounding Wilsonville. I would like to explore those areas and see how the images would come through.
When I was in high school, there was not much of landscape photography that I took, but in learning for what I can do with the camera in the first few projects, I find that I enjoy the open spaces where a lot can be seen, as well as hidden areas that also show certain treasure that are well hidden within the obvious.
My inspiration is Robert Adams, whom has done a lot of landscape imagery, mainly focusing on the artistic and conceptual aspects of landscape photography.  I find his work quite interesting, and easily to relate with. (Link is at the bottom of this blog entry)

Final Project Proposal

For my final project I want do family portraits and kind of get into the family's life for a day and catch all the sweet moments. I will be mostly concentrating on children just to see the different emotions and capture their silly moments. I will do some post production on the photos and have some presented in black and white and in color.

One photographer that really stood out to me was Jennifer Murdock. I like the way she captures the emotion of the children. The only thing I would change is I'm not going to be shooting in a studio. I like to shoot more of in the moment photos.  http://www.jennifermurdockphotography.com/

Final Project Proposal

For my final project I would like to take landscape photographs. Over the weekend I will be flying back to Texas and driving back to Oregon. I would like to be able to to show the drastic change of scenery in the South and Northwest. I took this trip when I first moved here and was surprised at how beautiful the two are but yet so different. It made me appreciate home a little more. I have found inspiration from Howard Holley who is a photographer from the Southwest.

Final Project Proposal~Devin Eric Meyers~Florida Boy in the City.

For my final project I decided to work on Architectural Photography. Mainly the old and new buildings of Portland's West side. In Florida we never had too many tall buildings, and other than the old Victorian style homes in the downtown neighborhoods, there was nothing older than 40 years old. We also don't have fall color in florida, so every Fall I try to get out shooting as much as possible. Also I'm really interested in how the lines, shapes, colors, and lighting interacts in the city, and I like to capture the beauty of decay. In Portland there are some really old cathedrals and stone buildings that are slowly falling apart, right next to new shimmering skyscrapers. I think the juxtaposition is cool. Also fire escapes, we dont have those in Florida. One of my favorite things is walking around aimlessly in town taking pictures. Just following where my eye leads me. Sometimes I will walk in circles, sometimes far in one direction. Ever corner holds another treasure to be framed in.

I found an architectual photographer who is based in the NW. His name is Lincoln Barbor. His style is a lot like how I want mine to be and he notices some of the same things I do as well. He captures the patterns and flow of shapes in Portland and Seattle very well.  http://www.lincolnbarbour.com/portfolios/architectural/#1

Here are some of the Photos I have taken so far. I have about a thousand to sort through just from within the time frame of this project.

Project Proposal ~ Stephanie Diller

For my Final Project I want to explore macro and still life photography together. I love both of these genre's of photography and feel like they go hand in hand. I have done quite a bit of work with both of these types of photography, but just for fun and shooting random things I thought looked cool. With this project I want to take a sort of partner-for-life spin on it, and focus in on little things that would be part of a couple's life together.

I couldn't pinpoint a photographer that did macro or still life photography that really stood out to me, but I'm sure that I'm not the first one to think of something like this :)

Final Project Inspiration and Goals

I grew up reading graphic novels as a kid, Science Fiction as a teen, Writing edgy music as a young adult, and now i aim to define myself through my craft as an Adult.
One of my interests i have recently discovered is creating 'Graphic Art' through my photography.

This to me is taking a well done image, and through post process manipulation giving it an almost 'anime' or comic book feel to it. Some aspects remaining 'real' others enhanced and adjusted to give the appropriate feel.

Although i am using this as another class project. The images i would like to focus on for THIS class is not the 'human' or character images (as shown) but applying this method to animals and buildings.

I Cant find a photographer who can demonstrate the technique and images i intend to create. Although I'm sure its been done and IS being done to date.

The Graphic novel of 'The Photographer' was an inspiration to me thought and i felt if two individuals could combine their gifts to create this book and and it be a success, why not combine the styles themselves..
